FAQ — Riding & Use
Quick answers about intended terrain, safety equipment, teen riders and accessories.
Intended use
Where can I ride?
D-series models are electric dirt bikes for private land and closed-course/off-road use. eBikes are intended for compliant road, bike-path and improved-trail use where local law allows. See Riding Laws & Compliance.
Can a commuter eBike handle rough terrain?
Commuter tires can handle pavement, gravel and uneven urban surfaces, but an eMTB or fat-tire model is better for demanding trails.
Is the D-series street legal?
No. D-series models are not sold as street-legal vehicles. Confirm local off-road vehicle rules before riding.
Safety
What protective equipment should I wear?
Use an approved helmet and appropriate protective gear. For off-road riding, use gloves, eye protection, protective clothing and suitable footwear.
What should I never do?
- Never carry a passenger
- Never use unapproved accessories or modifications
- Never ride through deep water or submerge the bike
- Never ride under the influence of alcohol or drugs
- Never skip the Pre-Ride Inspection
Can the bike get wet?
Avoid prolonged rain, deep water and direct water contact with electrical components. Water-resistance ratings do not mean the bike can be submerged.
Teen riders and speed limiting
Is a D-series model suitable for a teenager?
Suitability depends on rider fit, maturity, strength, supervision and local law — not age alone. See Rider Fit & Sizing.
Can I limit the speed?
Use the lowest power mode first. D-series models also expose display/controller speed-limit parameters; see Display & Settings.
Accessories
Can I fit racks, fenders or other accessories?
Some models include mounting points for compatible accessories. Check the specific product page or contact support before buying. Do not fit a child seat or passenger accessory unless CEMOTO confirms the model is approved for that use.
