Maintenance Schedule
Use this checklist to plan care. Follow the service intervals and measurements in your own model's manual; riding conditions can make checks necessary sooner.
Before every ride: checks you can do
| Check | What to look for |
|---|---|
| Brakes | Levers feel normal, return freely and brakes work properly. No leaks or grinding. |
| Throttle | With power off, it returns fully when released. |
| Tyres | No cuts or damage; pressure matches your model and tyre instructions. |
| Wheels | No obvious looseness, sideways movement or scraping. |
| Battery | Enough charge, properly seated and locked in place. |
| Frame, handlebar and footrests | No cracks or loose parts. |
| Chain, if fitted | No obvious damage or excessive looseness. Use your model's specified adjustment. |
| Display and fitted lights | No fault warning; lights and horn work if fitted. |
If anything is damaged or feels wrong, stop and contact support or a qualified repairer before riding. See Pre-Ride Inspection.
After muddy or wet rides
Let hot parts cool. Wipe off dirt and dry the bike using the cleaning guide. Clean and lubricate the chain as instructed for your model, keeping lubricant away from brake discs and pads. Look for new damage or leaks.
Just finished riding? Let the battery cool before charging. Use the original charger in a dry, ventilated indoor place.
Every week or every few rides
Check tyre pressure, tyre damage, loose parts, chain condition and brake wear. Look for oil leaking from the suspension and any wheel wobble. Ask a repairer if you are unsure what you are seeing; do not tighten critical bolts by feel or guess an adjustment.
Every month
Look at accessible cables and plugs with the power off. Report damage, burnt marks or moisture. Note any unusual drop in range, new noise or recurring charging problem. You do not need to open electrical parts or measure battery voltage.
Plan professional servicing
Review service needs about every six months and arrange a professional check at least annually, unless your model's manual specifies a different interval. Heavy off-road use may need more frequent attention.
A qualified repairer can check brake pads and fluid, wheels and bearings, suspension, chain wear and fastener tightness. Brake bleeding, fluid replacement, wheel alignment and bearing work need the correct tools and model instructions; they are not compulsory do-it-yourself tasks.
After a fall, repair or transport
- After a fall or impact, check for damage before the next ride. Arrange a professional check if steering, braking or wheels feel different.
- After wheel removal or repairs, have axle tightening, brakes and chain adjustment checked before riding.
- After transport, check for loose or damaged parts.
When storing the bike
Turn off the bike and follow Battery Care & Charging and Cleaning & Storage. For long periods without use, give CEMOTO lithium batteries a top-up charge about every 15 days. Do not leave the charger connected continuously.
Keep a simple record
Write down the date, what was done and anything that needs follow-up. Keep service receipts. You do not need technical measurements for an everyday note; see the Maintenance Log.
Use the original battery and charger. Ask support to confirm compatible replacement parts. Chain slack and bolt tightening values depend on the model and part; a value quoted for one manual must not be applied to every bike.
