Overview

The CEMOTO EB66, also called B66, is a motorcycle-styled fat-tyre eBike. Check your order to see whether you selected the single-battery or double-battery version.

Its standout practical feature is the dual-battery option. The EB66 is sold in two variants — a single-battery version and a double-battery version — which is effectively a factory-fitted range extender. This is unusual in the eBike market, where a second battery is normally an aftermarket purchase, and it makes the EB66 the longest-range option in the range when specified with two packs.

CEMOTO describes it as delivering exceptional performance on city streets and beyond, with a fusion of classic aesthetics and modern engineering.

EB66 and B66 refer to the same model. Battery configuration depends on the version ordered.

Available configurations

Variant Battery
48V15AH × 1 One 48V 15Ah pack
48V15AH × 2 Two 48V 15Ah packs

Choosing between them: one pack gives 48V × 15Ah ≈ 720 Wh; two packs give ≈ 1,440 Wh — double the energy, and it materially changes what the bike can do. Note that the second pack adds weight, and the EB66 is already the heaviest eBike in the range at 41 kg net. For current pricing of each configuration, see the EB66 product page.

Sizes and weight

Measurement Value
Net weight (N.W.) 41 kg
Gross weight (G.W.) 48 kg
Carton size 138 × 28 × 80 cm
Load capacity 120 kg
Wheel size 20 inch

The heaviest eBike in the range. At 41 kg net, the EB66 is 8 kg heavier than the B28A/B28D and 14 kg heavier than the EB40. The dual-battery variant is heavier still. Factor this into storage, lifting and transport decisions — and note that CEMOTO has not published separate weights for the two battery configurations.

Feature highlights

  • Motorcycle-inspired design — cruiser styling, a defining attribute of this model
  • Dual-battery option — up to ≈1,440 Wh of onboard energy for extended range
  • 750W BLDC motor — strong output to move a heavy, fat-tired machine
  • 20 × 4.0 KENDA fat tires — the smallest-diameter fat tires in the range, giving a low stance, a compact footprint and excellent traction
  • Tektro disc brakes — a recognized brake brand, providing consistent stopping power
  • Carbon steel frame — chosen for the cruiser aesthetic. Heavier than the 6061 alloy used elsewhere, and it needs more diligent corrosion care
  • Alloy suspension fork — absorbs impacts alongside the fat tires
  • SHIMANO 7-speed gearing — lets you pedal efficiently and conserve battery
  • Fat tires for superior traction — CEMOTO cites traction as a core EB66 benefit
  • Intelligent controls and a 4-inch color display — clear readout while riding

Carbon steel frame — care note

The EB66 is the only CEMOTO eBike using a carbon steel frame. That choice supports the cruiser look, but steel is more vulnerable to corrosion than aluminum, particularly where paint is chipped or scratched.

Practical implications:

  • Dry and inspect the frame after wet rides, and after any exposure to salt (winter roads, coastal air).
  • Touch up paint chips promptly to prevent rust spreading.
  • Pay attention to the underside of the frame, welds and the area around fasteners, where water collects.
  • Do not use a high-pressure washer. Water forced into seams and bearings causes more harm than the dirt it removes.

See Cleaning & Storage.

Battery and charging

The EB66 uses a 48V 15Ah (≈720 Wh) pack charged by a 54.6V 2A UL-listed charger. Use the original charger supplied with this bike; do not assume chargers from other models are interchangeable.

An exact EB66 charging time is not listed here. It depends on the remaining battery charge and the supplied equipment. Follow the original charger indicator and your model instructions. Let a hot battery cool before charging, and contact support if it will not charge.

Manual guidance on battery handling:

  • Recharge before your first ride and after any long-distance operation.
  • Use only the battery supplied with, or recommended for, the bike.
  • Use only the supplied charger. If it fails, replace it with the recommended charger — not a generic substitute.
  • For safety, cut the power supply when the bike is not in use.
  • Battery lifespan averages 1 to 2 years depending on usage and conditions. Plan for replacement.
  • Never leave a battery charging unattended for long periods, and charge on a non-flammable surface away from anything combustible.

See Battery Care & Charging for charging practice, storage charge levels and temperature guidance.

How far can I ride?

Range depends on the battery version, rider weight, hills, speed, weather and how much you pedal. Two batteries provide more stored energy than one, but do not guarantee an exact distance or exactly twice the range.

A verified EB66 distance figure is not listed here. Do not use another model's range as a promise for this bike. See Range Calculator for an estimate, or ask support about your chosen configuration.

  • Wear an approved helmet and observe all road rules for the area where you ride.
  • Confirm your local eBike rules. A 750W motor with high energy capacity may sit above local eBike definitions — in some jurisdictions, higher-power, throttle-operated bikes are classified differently from pedal-assist eBikes, with consequences for licensing, insurance and where you may ride. See Riding Laws & Compliance.
  • eBikes are single-rider vehicles. Never carry a passenger, regardless of the cruiser styling and apparent seating room.
  • Intended terrain: on-road and improved trail. Do not ride rough trails — damage may occur.
  • Do not ride through deep water, and avoid prolonged riding in rain. The steel frame and the electrical system both warrant particular care here.
  • Use the chain adjustment specified for your exact model. Ask a bike repairer if unsure.
  • Braking distance increases in bad weather, and this is a heavy bike — allow generous stopping distance.
  • Mind the weight. 41 kg is difficult to lift safely. Use proper technique and consider a second person for loading into vehicles.
