Resetting the CEMOTO Controller to Factory Settings
The FarDriver dongle procedure — and the cases where a reset is the wrong answer.

What you need

Steps
- Locate the controller's programming connector — usually under the side panel or seat area.
- Plug in the dongle and power the bike on.
- Pair the dongle with the FarDriver app.
- Read the current parameters first and save or photograph them. A factory reset discards every value you have set, including any that were correct for your wheel size or voltage.
- Issue the factory reset from the app.
- Re-verify the critical parameters after the reset — particularly P03 (voltage), P06 (wheel diameter), P07 (magnets), P13 (magnet disk) and P15 (undervoltage). A generic factory profile will not necessarily match your bike.
- Power cycle and confirm the bike behaves normally at low speed.
When a reset is the wrong answer
A factory reset is not a diagnostic tool. Do not use it as a first response to an error code.
