Overview

The CEMOTO B28A — sold under the store handle cemoto-fat-tire-eBike-eb28a, titled CEMOTO EBIKE B28A | High Step Fat Tire eBike, and referred to as AEB28A in its own product description — is the high-step fat-tire model in the CEMOTO eBike range.

Its defining feature is the 26 × 4.0 CST fat tire set, which provides vastly more contact patch and air volume than a standard tire. The practical benefits are traction on loose surfaces (sand, snow, gravel, mud) and a much softer ride, because the tire itself absorbs a large share of the vibration that would otherwise reach the rider.

The 750W BLDC motor and 48V 15.6Ah pack are the same core specification used on the B28D and closely related to the EB40, giving the biggest energy capacity in the non-folding section of the range.

CEMOTO rates range at 40–80 miles, a wide band that reflects how much fat-tire efficiency varies with terrain, pressure and rider input.

Naming note: this is the high-step fat-tire model. It differs from the B28 (27.5" mountain, non-fat tires) and the B28D (26" fat tire but with a folding frame).

Feature highlights

Riding a fat-tire bike

Fat tires change how a bike behaves, and it is worth understanding before you ride:

Consideration Effect
Traction Far greater contact patch — excellent on loose surfaces, and it keeps working at low pressures
Tire pressure The single biggest handling variable. Lower pressure increases grip and comfort but raises rolling resistance and reduces range. Check pressure frequently on fat-tire bikes
Rolling resistance Higher than a standard tire. This is why the fat models carry 750W motors and larger batteries
Ride quality The tire volume absorbs vibration that a suspension fork alone cannot, softening rough pavement and trails
Weight and handling Heavier, slower to turn, and more stable at speed. Plan for longer braking distances
Wet braking Braking distance increases in rain or snow — allow more room

CEMOTO's manual advice applies: check air pressure frequently. Too little air increases resistance and reduces range.

Range and performance notes

Range is published as 40–80 miles — a deliberately wide band, because fat-tire efficiency depends heavily on tire pressure, terrain, rider weight and how much you pedal. Published figures are manufacturer-stated maximums under controlled test conditions (typically a 70 kg rider, 25 °C and 20 km/h constant speed).

Use pedal assistance on climbs and into wind to conserve energy and extend battery life. For a structured estimate for your own conditions, see Range Calculator.
