# FAQ — Assembly & Setup --- ## Assembly **Are the bikes assembled when they arrive, or do I need to put them together?** For safe shipping, the bikes arrive **partially assembled** — typically **85–90 % complete**. You will need to attach the front wheel, handlebars, pedals or footpegs, and the seat post, and perform some basic adjustments (brakes, gears). All necessary tools and clear, step-by-step assembly instructions are included. Assembly videos are also available — see [Technical Guides](https://help.cemotoride.com/link/336). If you are not comfortable doing this yourself, CEMOTO recommends taking the bike to a **local bike shop** for professional assembly and tuning. Costs vary by shop. **How much assembly is required for a D-series dirt bike?** The bike arrives about **85 % pre-assembled**. You only need to attach the **handlebars, front wheel and footpegs**. Most riders are trail-ready in about **20–30 minutes**. The D02 Track specifically requires four parts to be installed: **front wheel, handlebars, footpegs and headlight**. **What about eBikes?** eBikes ship approximately **90 % assembled**. To ship the bike, the pedals, seat, front wheel and sometimes the handlebar are loosened or removed. **How long does assembly take?** - **D-series dirt bikes:** 20–30 minutes - **eBikes:** 30–45 minutes including basic adjustments **Should I assemble it myself or use a bike shop?** If you have questions about your ability to assemble the product, consult a qualified bicycle technician. CEMOTO recommends that **two people work together** to assemble an electric bike. **Is there an assembly video?** Yes. See [Technical Guides](https://help.cemotoride.com/link/336). --- ## What's in the box **What is included?** The confirmed D-series package includes: - The bike (partially assembled) - One compatible charger - Assembly tools and hardware - A manual - The original shipping carton For the D02 Track, the pictured assembly kit contains: **headlight, front number plate, wrenches, hex keys, screwdriver, cable ties, footpegs and manual**, plus a U.S. two-prong battery charger. Exact tool appearance may vary. **Do I need to buy tools?** The basic assembly tools are included. You will additionally want: - A **tire pump with pressure gauge** (Schrader-type valve) - A **torque wrench** for final tightening of axle and stem fasteners **How heavy is the carton?** - D02 Classic: 138.9 lb (63 kg) gross - D03 Pro: ~139 lb gross - D02 Track: 165.3 lb (75 kg) gross Plan for suitable space and lifting assistance. See [What's in the Box](https://help.cemotoride.com/link/302). --- ## First ride **What should I do before my first ride?** 1. **Charge the battery fully.** The manual recommends an initial charge of up to **12 hours** for the first cycle. 2. **Complete the pre-ride inspection** — brakes, throttle, tires, battery, frame, fasteners, chain, display, lights. 3. **Re-check all fasteners** after assembly; they settle during the first ride. 4. **Practice in a safe open area first** — at least **10 m × 10 m** — riding forward, turning and stopping. 5. **Start in 1st gear (ECO mode).** Do not ride in high gear until fully familiar with the bike. 6. **Ride with an experienced person first** if you are new to the bike. See [Pre-Ride Inspection](https://help.cemotoride.com/link/300). **Why won't the bike move when I turn it on?** On the D-series, turning the electric door lock on makes the instrument light up and display **0 gear**. In this state the vehicle **does not work** — the throttle is inactive by design. Press the **"+" key** to switch to a gear above 1, and the throttle will respond. **Do I need to practice before riding on trails?** Yes. The owner manual recommends elementary exercises in an accessible area of at least 10 m × 10 m to practice riding forward, turning and stopping. Stay relaxed while practicing, and try to practice navigating tight areas, turning and stopping. **Riding on ordinary roads is not allowed until you can precisely control the motorcycle through tight areas and simulate various terrain.** Whenever you upgrade your electric motorcycle, experience the feeling of riding again and practice in the same area as the obstacle zone after the upgrade. --- ## Registration and warranty activation **Do I need to register my product?** CEMOTO offers a **warranty registration** portal where you can register your product to activate official warranty coverage and after-sales support. Registration provides: - **Coverage** — official warranty protection - **Support** — faster service response - **Proof** — ownership verification Note that the **warranty policy states the warranty is automatically registered at the time of purchase** through the official website or authorized sales channels. Registration is nonetheless recommended to verify ownership and speed up any future claim.
